Treating Panic Attacks
Panic attacks are sudden surges of intense fear or discomfort that can feel overwhelming and unpredictable. They often involve physical sensations such as rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, chest tightness, or dizziness—sometimes leading people to believe something is seriously wrong with their health. When these experiences occur repeatedly or create an ongoing fear of having another attack, they may develop into panic disorder.
Although panic attacks can feel frightening and disruptive, they are both understandable and treatable. Effective care focuses on understanding how panic develops, identifying the thoughts and sensations that fuel it, and gradually building confidence in your ability to tolerate and move through those sensations safely. With the right support, most people find that panic no longer dictates how they live, travel, or engage with the world.
